What it is Like Being a Blogger

Blogger: noun. a person who keeps a Web log (blog) or publish an online diary or journal.

A blog (a truncation of the expression weblog) is a discussion or informational site published on the World Wide Web consisting of discrete entries (“posts”) typically displayed in reverse chronological order (the most recent post appears first). wikipedia.

Being a blogger can be a lot of things, to some being a blogger is being a geek who lives in his own world and express only his thoughts and actions through writing a post.  To some it can be a part time or a full time job, since blogging can also be lucrative when you provide advertising space for companies who wants to place their banner for clicks. Most of the time bloggers do this because of the glitz and glamour of blogging, most of these people are from the fashion industry or the fashionistas.  But to some like me, being a blogger is simply just a hobby, it is my way of expressing what I feel and serves as a journal of my thoughts and activities.

I love reading a lot and I love trying out things that can either be lucrative, informational, or just for fun, and I love sharing my happiness and the satisfaction I get from it, by either talking about it to people who most of the times are not even interested and can not relate to what I have been blabbing about.  So this is where blogging comes into the picture.

Talking to people can sometimes be frustrating because it is very limited, especially if you only have few friends who are in the same phase like you do.  As a blogger, you can share your thoughts on the web and have same minded people find you and start reading your post.  Some people may find you because they were trying to look for an answer to things they want to find themselves.

While grammar is essential to writing, in being a blogger all you need is spontaneity.  Just let your mind and thoughts flow and let your fingers do the job by typing it away.  Just express what you feel and think, express yourself!  That is one good thing about being a blogger, you can be anonymous if you want and still get the attention you need with what you write for your readers and followers.  The great thing about being a blogger is that you know the kind of people who follows you, those who loves to read, the curious type, the critics, and the intellectual type who would spend hours and hours just to digest every pieces of information that they can get from your website.

Just like my prior post about blogging as a career, yes you can monetize your website or earn from blogging.  This is not easy because to earn money from being a blogger you must first earn your credibility and reputation as a blogger.  Your post must be worth reading, it does not have to be the thing like telling what is happening in politics or show business but something that stands out from the rest.  Like the blogger who loves to eat and goes to different places to taste different cuisine and exotic foods, when you tap the right market and your unique visitors grow like crazy, advertisers will pay just to have their banners on your website.

Blogging can be rewarding too, as I recall, my first product review where I actually got a free stuff was the TallMenShoes, they sent me a sample of their shoes and tried it myself.  All I did was just to share my experience with the shoes and people started asking me a lot of questions on how it works, where they can get it etc etc.  It all started from there and then bag makers send me bags and wallets and so forth and so on.  Bloggers can get freebies and money too!

It is very easy to start your own blog site, there are free blog sites out there but the only thing about it is you do not get to have your own identity and they can regulate your blog space, and even terminate it without a notice; unlike having your own website you can choose and use your own domain name as you wish.  You may start by paying some fees in buying your domain name and maintaining the website, but the satisfaction, freebies, monetization, and not to mention the experience and reputation that leads to recognition is plausible.

Now, you don’t even need a laptop or a computer to become a blogger, although it is advisable to have one because of certain applications and features that is only accessible through a computer or laptop, because most of the time I only use my smart phone or tablet to blog about something. There are available apps out there that offers the same interface just like the computer or laptop, and you are good to go. So don’t feel you are limited just because you don’t have the materials for conventional writing.

Also being a blogger it does not have to be limited in the space of your room or office. Being a blogger on the go is also the nice thing about being on mobile

I can help you get your own personal website and it is very easy!  No need to learn those technical HTML whatevah!
